The month of September is nationally known as National Recovery Month and the week of September 8th- 14th is National Suicide Prevention Awareness week.

There is Hope & Help, if you or someone you know is struggling with substance abuse and/or mental health.

To help Start the Conversation surrounding recovery and suicide awareness, we are excited to announce the 4th annual Live 4 Tomorrow Today (L4TT) 5k+ Run & Walk, which will take place on Saturday September 7, 2024 at the Dawson Grange Community Fairgrounds in Dawson, PA. This 3.5-mile run/walk is a family-friendly event that is sure to attract runners of all levels.

Families and friends are welcome to run/walk in remembrance of or in honor of their loved one or individually. Please indicate what you would like on your shirt, has we customize every shirt!

Live 4 Tomorrow Today is specifically to educate, support, and bring awareness to recovery, suicide & overdose.

All proceeds go towards Live 4 Tomorrow Today community events (Burn Out the Stigma Car Show, L4TT 5K+ Run & Walk and Unmasking the Stigma Dance), our Funeral Expense Program; this program allows us to help with funeral expenses or monument expenses if an individual passes away from an overdose or suicide and our Start the Conversation Program; this is a free program that allows us to meet with individuals interested in finding Help and starting the process of identifying their needs for treatment/therapy.

Fox Chapel Fox Trot 5k & 1 Mile Fun Run

Sunday, September 8th the Fox Chapel Parks Conservancy will host our first ever "fun run" through our beautiful trails and parks. This community oriented and fully inclusive will focus on promoting our parks and trail system with a focus on health, wellness and community in the borough.

The event begins at 8:15am with a 1 mile family fun run/walk immediately followed at 9am by a 5k timed run. All registrants and guests will park in McCahill park or alongside Hemlock Hollow and start the race there. The 1 mile run loops Salamander park, while the 5k includes that Salamander loop and extends north into Scott Park before returning for a big finish in McCahill! Please, no strollers or dogs on the course.

Free hot & iced coffee & delicious donuts will be provided along with music and balloons for kids, local vendors, sponsors, and a few fun surprises along the trails! All guests, family, friends and spectators in the community are welcomed! Come visit with local vendors and our community in McCahill park! The race pre-party will be live ahead of the singing of the national anthem and starting gun at 8:15a!
