Riverside High School in Ellwood City is set to host the 2019 Beaver County Track & Field Championships tomorrow at 9:30 A.M. Central Valley High School won the girl’s team championship last year scoring 106 points. Hopewell was the girl’s runner up with 89.5 points and Ellwood City took third with 81 points. Riverside claimed the boy’s team title in 2018 with a total of 138 points, while Beaver Area placed 2nd (96.33 pts) and Hopewell 3rd (84 pts).
Field events start at 9:30 A.M. with track events starting at 10:00 A.M. 14 teams will be vying for the boys and girls Beaver County Crown. The top 6 finishers in each event will be scored as follows: 10, 8, 6, 4, 2, 1. The top 3 individuals and relays in each event will receive medals and places 4,5, and 6 ribbons.
The weather looks excellent for tomorrow with temps in the mid-50s at the start of the meet and warming up to the mid 60s throughout the afternoon.
