We recently uploaded a new video to our Wolf Creek Race Management Youtube channel highlighting Memorial Park in Grove City from a running perspective. This is the first video in a series of reviews of the best running destinations in Western Pennsylvania. We will be releasing a new video on a new park or trail each week.
I have probably run more miles in Memorial Park than any other park in Western Pennsylvania. I ran cross country while attending Grove City Area High School and Grove City College where we ran many workouts at the park. In high school, we didn’t have a cross country locker room so we just met at a pavilion in the park for practice. We did just about all of our workouts there and most of our easy runs as well. In college, we would only do specific workouts such as mile repeats around the baseball fields at the park, but I would still find myself coming back often on easy runs.
After running so many hundreds of miles in the park for the last 10 years you might think it would get boring. While it certainly isn’t as interesting as Moraine or Ohiopyle, it somehow doesn’t get boring. I still live in Grove City and find myself running through Memorial Park on easy runs 2-3 times every week.
Below you can see a Memorial Park trail map. Many of the trails are designed with mountain biking in mind but are also good for running and hiking. There are also some other trails that aren’t shown on the map.
