What is the Directional Double?

The Directional Double consists of two local half marathons — one in North Park and one in South Park— showcasing some of the best of Allegheny County’s park system. Whether you’re a seasoned runner looking for your next goal or just looking to challenge yourself, these events will reward you with unforgettable experiences.

Race #1: North Park Half Marathon, January 11th, 2025

The first leg of the Directional Double takes place at North Park, one of Pittsburgh’s largest and most picturesque parks. Known for its rolling hills and scenic lake, the North Park Half will have you looping the famous 5-mile lake loop.

Race #2: South Park Half Marathon, February 15th, 2025

South Park is another gem in Allegheny County. The South Park Half features a double loop course with some hills to test your endurance. The second leg of the Directional Double is just as picturesque as the first.
