Experience the Allegheny National Forest in Autumn
On Sunday, October 25th the inaugural Kinzua Valley Half Marathon will begin in the small town of Westline, PA. The course features the Kinzua Valley Trail which is situated in the heart of the Allegheny National Forest. The trail surface is finely crushed limestone providing a fast surface for runners that is easy on the legs. This will be the first ever race to occur on the trail, which recently finished its current extension to Red Bridge in 2016. The Kinzua Valley Trail travels alongside Kinzua Creek and enables all participants to experience the natural beauty of Pennsylvania.
“One of my favorite trails in the region. I love the wide diversity in scenery and nature along the length of the trail.“

The Kinzua Valley Half Marathon supports the Kinzua Valley Trail Club and their mission of expanding the trail all the way to Kinzua Bridge State Park.
Committed to Hosting a Fun and Safe Event
As one of a few half marathons occurring in Pennsylvania this fall, we are taking a number of steps to ensure this is a safe and fun event for everyone involved. These measures include offering a start window, self-serve water stations, providing only pre-packaged refreshments, offering a virtual awards ceremony versus the traditional in person awards ceremony, and of course capping participation.
With the start window, participants will have from 8:00-8:30am to start the race, so they can remain socially distanced and start when they are comfortable. The start is chip timed so there is no penalty to starting later.
Our Last Half of the Year
This is slated to be our last half marathon of the year and we hope to see you there! Plan a fall weekend getaway to the Allegheny National Forest while also experiencing this half marathon on a scenic course!
