The Endurance Industry Awaits

Wolf Creek Race Management Is Hiring Full-Time Race Managers

Wolf Creek Race Management is growing – and we’re excited to announce that we are currently looking for full-time and part-time Race Managers to join our expanding team.

What Is It Like to Work at Wolf Creek?

This is a truly unique role that blends in-office planning with hands-on, in-the-field event production. Race Managers split their time between our Portersville, PA office and event sites that include parks, trails, school districts, and universities across the region and beyond.

As one of the fastest-growing endurance companies in the country, Wolf Creek produces and supports nationally recognized events such as The Christmas Eve 5K and the Rabid Raccoon 100 Mile. This position offers endurance sport enthusiasts the opportunity to do meaningful work – creating unforgettable race-day experiences and lifelong memories for thousands of runners and walkers.

That said, this role is not for the faint of heart. Our busiest seasons – spring track & field and fall cross country – can be demanding, fast-paced, and highly rewarding. Race Managers assist in producing Wolf Creek–owned events while also timing and servicing client events throughout the year.

What the Year Looks Like at Wolf Creek

Winter: Planning & Preparation

Winter is primarily office-based at our headquarters in Portersville, PA, conveniently located near Moraine State Park and McConnells Mill State Park – two exceptional outdoor recreation destinations.

During this season, Race Managers focus on:

  • Renewing client contracts and preparing quotes
  • Securing corporate partnerships
  • Building marketing campaigns
  • Setting up registration websites
  • Planning the year ahead
  • Attend endurance conferences to stay on top of industry trends

Office hours are flexible (8–4, 9–5, 10–6, etc.). Winter also includes a handful of events such as the largest winter half marathon in Pennsylvania – the North Park Half Marathon and a trip to Arkansas for the Hot Springs Half Marathon at Hot Springs National Park.

Spring: Track & Field Season

Spring marks the busiest time of year. Work transitions from mostly office-based to being on-site at school districts and universities, timing and servicing track & field meets nearly every day.

Expect:

  • Evening hours and frequent Saturdays
  • Typical workweeks of Tuesday–Saturday, with Sunday and Monday off
  • Weekday dual meets running approximately 3:30 PM (meet start) to 6:00 PM (meet end)
  • Weekdays will typically start at 11:00 AM in the office for software setup / vehicle loading
  • Weekdays will typically conclude at 7:00 PM

A typical day includes morning office prep, traveling in a company vehicle, setting up timing hardware, servicing the meet, teardown, and returning equipment. Larger invitationals that involve longer hours onsite at client locations are mixed in throughout the season.

To put the spring workload in perspective: in April alone, Wolf Creek services approximately 90 endurance events in just 30 days.

Summer: Travel & Strategic Work

Summer brings a lighter event schedule compared to spring, though it remains busier than winter. The focus shifts back toward office work, paired with all-expenses-paid travel to some incredible locations, including:

Fall: Cross Country Season

Fall ramps up again with the start of cross country season. While busy, cross country meets are generally shorter and less complex than track meets.

Expect:

  • Weekday afternoon and early evening meets, Saturday events
  • Meets typically concluding earlier than track meets in the spring (around 5:30 PM)
  • A steady but more manageable workload compared to spring

Who We’re Looking For

We’re seeking individuals with a background or experience in:

  • Cross country
  • Track & field
  • Road racing
  • Prior Race Timing Experience is a plus, but not required

Most importantly, we’re looking for people who are passionate about running, enjoy problem-solving, and are excited about working premier endurance events throughout the region and across the United States.
