FW0A7364

The Wolf Creek Track Club held its inaugural event on Saturday morning “Restore the Shore 5k & 10 Mile” at McDanels Boat Launch in Moraine State Park. The 10 Mile led off the festivities at 9am followed shortly by the 5k, which went off at 9:10am. At the start of each race, it was about 70 degrees and sunny. The Overall 10 Mile Finishers were (1) Dan Spaulding 59:57.636, (2) Jed Christiansen 59:57.768, (3) Rachel Martin 1:12:41.060. The Overall 5k finishers were (1) Brent Collins 21:49.167, (2) David Voland 22:43.968, (3) Alec Buss 23:00.770. The race was chip timed to the thousandth of a second by the Wolf Creek Track Club Timing Services. Full race results can be seen at https://wolfcreektrackclub.com/restoretheshore/

One of the Club Directors, Andrew Mascio, had this to say about the race, “First of all, I would like to thank all the volunteers who came out on Saturday. This event would not have been possible without you. Also, I would like to thank all the participants for coming out and supporting the Moraine Preservation Fund. Overall, for our first ever event, things went well. We had more than enough food, the gift baskets were a big hit, the race medals & shirts were well received, there was no wait for restrooms, EMS was on the scene, the traffic was professionally managed and there were no issues along the course. Some improvements need to be made for future events and they will be. We want to hear more of your feedback. Please be as critical as possible so we can help improve our offerings to runners.”

Individual race photos will be available soon from RNB Photography. Keep on the lookout for an email.

The Wolf Creek Track Club is currently planning to host an all comers track meet in late July. Details will be available soon.

  • You probably remember me. I and my grandaughter were the last to walk in race. I have CHF and Epilepsy. At 72, it is the best that I can do. I love to be with my daughter and grandkids and will do anything I can do to participate with them. Thanks for offering the event. Need more walkers. Paul

    • Thank you for your participation in the event! We truly appreciate your feedback. We will definitely encourage more walkers to come out for future events.

  • It was a nice way to spend a Saturday morning. I suggest that you start the 10 mile race much sooner and the 5K race. too much time to wait around.

Maybe a little more order in announcing medals.

    • Thanks for coming out to the race Mitch! We really appreciate the feedback. For this event next year, we will be sure to start the 10 mile race much earlier. Announcing and the awards ceremony is something we’ve already discussed that we know needs improved and it will be for future events.
